窺鏡者，又稱窺遠鏡、望遠鏡，淸人謂之「千里眼」[1]，窺探之鏡也。其多形筒，內有透鏡二，是謂「窺筒」，又以其能觀四海於萬里之外而曰「萬里鏡」。窺鏡用以光學，可探天上衆星、可觀人間萬物，衍生品繁多，用途亦殊廣。
