化石

化石者，古生物屍骸或痕跡畱於地層之石化遺存也。太古之時，動植物死而深掩於地，任光陰荏苒，歲月推移，其內有機物漸經流失而化為礦石，是曰『化石』。化石多有類分，或為古獸齒牙、恐龍巢卵；或為植被枝葉、朽木軀幹。是者可以助學者探飛禽走獸之本，坤輿萬生之源也。
