召公奭，周臣也。與周室同姓。武王克殷，得封於燕。成王時，與姬旦輔政，主陜以西。是為召公。及周公攝政，召公恐其不軌，周公諭之，乃復好如初。召公之裔，王燕。至戰國時，稱雄一隅。[1]初，公嘗聽訟於小棠之下，不勞民力。民乃作甘棠之詩。以懷其德。[2]
