百舌鳥，或名反舌、舍羅，今名烏鶇。以蟲、果爲食，歐、亞、非、美、大洋洲皆有所產，於生學乃鶇屬之一種。瑞典之國鳥也。

百舌能反複其舌，效仿百鳥之音，故名。又一說以其聲數轉而得名。《禮記》曰：「仲夏之月，反舌無聲」，蓋百舌自春始鳴，而至五月則稍止也。「反舌無聲」，芒種之末候也。
