Vroeger wierd er 'n indêlinge gemakt in drie rykn: bêestn, plantn en mineroaln.
Den dag van vandoage wordn d'r zes rykn gebruukt:
- De archaebacteriën (Archaea) (prokaryootn)
- De eubacteriën (Bacteria) (prokaryootn)
- De protistn (Protista): êencellign met celkern (eukaryootn)
- De plantn ('Plantae)
- De bêestn (Animalia)
- De schimmels (Fungi)
't Ryk kan ook nog ounderverdêeld wordn in een ounderryk (subregnum).
