งูปล้องฉนวน[3] (อังกฤษ: Wolf snakes) เป็นงูในสกุล Lycodon (/ไล-โค-ดอน/) จัดอยู่ในวงศ์งูพิษเขี้ยวหลัง (Colubrida) มีลักษณะโดยรวมเป็นงูลำตัวเรียว มีความยาวประมาณ 40-60 เซนติเมตร มักมีลายเป็นปล้องสีนํ้าตาลหรือดําสลับขาว ไม่มีพิษ [3]

โดยคำว่า Lycodon มาจากภาษากรีกคำว่า "λύκος" (lykos) หมายถึง "หมาป่า" และ "οδόν" (odon) หมายถึง "ฟัน" อันหมายถึง ลักษณะของฟันที่ขากรรไกรและฟันคู่หน้าล่าง[4][2]
