Në nomenklaturën zoologjike, një trinomen (shumësi: trinomina), emri trinominal ose emri ternar, i referohet emrit të nënspecifikimit. Për shembull: "Gorilla gorilla gorilla" (Savage, 1847) për Gorillën e ultësirës perëndimore (Gorilla gjini, gorillë specie perëndimore). Gjithashtu, "Bison bizon bizon" (Linnaeus, 1758) për bizonin (gjini Bison, specie amerikan bizon).
