Rubín (lat. rubens, rubinus – červený) je vzácny drahokam, chemicky oxid hlinitý - Al2O3, mineralogicky korund. Má ružové až červené sfarbenie, ktoré spôsobuje zvýšený obsah chrómu. Ostatné farebné drahokamové odrody korundu sa súhrnne označujú ako zafír, najznámejší je v modrých odtieňoch. Rubín, resp. korund, má biely vryp, hustotu okolo 4 g/cm3 a stupeň tvrdosti 9 (korund je referenčný minerál) podľa Mohsovej stupnice.
Hodnota rubína na trhu sa odvíja od jeho farby, veľkosti, rýdzosti aj výbrusu. Šperky s rubínmi stoja priemerne niekoľko 100 USD. Najväčšiu hodnotu na aukcii na základe hmotnosti dosiahol mjanmarský rubín vsadený do zlatého prsteňa - cena za jeden gram bola vyše 2 mil. USD. Ako iným drahokamom, aj rubínu sa už oddávna pripisujú magické účinky. Najmä v Ázii sa teší veľkej obľube, kde sa napríklad v minulosti tieto drahokamy kládli pri stavbe budovy pod jej základy, čo jej malo zaručiť šťastie. Tie najkvalitnejšie rubíny sa ťažia v Barme.
