Yannick Nézet-Séguin (born March 6, 1975) is a Canadian conductor and pianist.
Nézet-Séguin was born in Montreal on 6 March 1975. Starting the piano at five, he choose to be a conductor at age ten. He studied at a conservatory in Montreal and started as a music director of the Orchestre Métropolitain in Montréal in 2000.
Currently, he is the music director of the Philadelphia Orchestra. He has held this appointment since 2012.[1] Nézet-Séguin has also been working with the Metropolitan Opera in New York since 2009, where he has orchestrated several operas.[2]
