The Mambo Kings is a 1992 American French musical drama movie directed by first time director Arne Glimcher and was based on the 1989 novel The Mambo Kings Play Songs of Love by Oscar Hijuelos. It stars Armand Assante, Antonio Banderas, Cathy Moriarty, Tito Puente, Roscoe Lee Browne, Vondie Curtis-Hall, Talisa Soto and Helena Carroll. It was distributed by Warner Bros. and was nominated for an Academy Award in 1993.
