The 1975 are an English pop rock band from the town of Wilmslow, Cheshire who are currently based in Manchester.

The band currently consists of lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Matthew Healy, lead guitarist Adam Hann, bassist Ross MacDonald, and drummer George Daniel. Healy is the son of actors Denise Welch and Tim Healy.
The band members all met while attending Wilmslow High School and played together as teenagers. Organised gigs by a council worker led to the band formally signing with Dirty Hit and Polydor Records.
As of May 2019, they had won 10 awards from 40 nominations.
