Rema was born in Benin City, Nigeria in 2000.^[1][2]

Career

He started making music at a young age.^{[clarification needed]} He began releasing music online when he was just 18 years old. His first song, "Iron Man", was released in 2020. Rema got global recognition in 2022 when a remix of his song Calm Down was on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and earned a billion streams on Spotify.^[3]
