Providence College is a private, Roman Catholic university in Providence, Rhode Island. The university has about 4,585 students. It was founded in 1917. The current president of the university is Kenneth R. Sicard.
The athletics teams of the university are called the Friars. They have 19 varsity teams and they compete in the Big East Conference.
