An obstetric fistula is an unwanted hole in a woman's body that was caused by having a baby. It can happen when having the baby is difficult, especially if the mother does not receive good medical care. The hole can go from the vagina to the bladder or from the vagina to the bowel. A surgeon can fix the hole with surgery.
