Mater Ecclesiae

Mater Ecclesiae (Latin: Mother of the Church) is a monastery in the Vatican Gardens, in Vatican City. Nuns live there. Pope John Paul II founded the monastery in 1995. The nuns living there have the duty to look after the the pope, and to care and pray for him. There are twelve rooms, or cells, where nuns live. Different orders take turns in sending nuns there
