Mantis (Marvel Comics)

Mantis is a fictional character and superheroine from the Marvel Comics universe. The character was created by Steve Englehart and first appeared in Avengers #112 in June 1973. She is also known as the Celestial Madonna. The real name of the character is Brandt. Mantis has been a in the Guardians of the Galaxy and Avengers comics.

Mantis is played by French actress Pom Klementieff in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). She is in the movies Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017), Avengers: Infinity War (2018), Avengers: Endgame (2019), Thor: Love and Thunder (2022), The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special (2022) and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 (2023). In the MCU, the character is a daughter of Ego and a half sister to Peter Quill, Star-Lord.
