Jean Coralli

Jean Coralli (January 15, 1779 – May 1, 1854), born Jean Coralli Peracini, was a French dancer and choreographer of Italian background. He debuted in Paris in 1803. He choreographed for Vienna, Milan, Lisbon, and Marseilles. He later held the post of First Ballet Master of the Paris Opéra Ballet. He is best known for the creation of the Romantic ballet Giselle (1841). This ballet was choreographed with Jules Perrot. Other ballets include Le Diable Boiteux, La Tarentule, and La Péri.
