Fatima bint Muhammad (Arabic: فاطمة بنت محمد, or commonly known as Fatima al-Zahra (Arabic: فاطمة الزهراء, born 605 or 615^[1] – d. 633) was the youngest daughter of the Islamic prophet Muhammad and Khadija. Fatima's husband was Ali.^[2] She is often viewed as an ultimate role model for Muslim women and an example of compassion, generosity, and enduring suffering. The Fatimid Caliphate claimed to be her descendants. Her name and her epithets remain popular choices for Muslim girls.
