Continental Portugal (Portuguese: Portugal continental, IPA: [puɾtuˈɣal kõtinẽˈtal]) or mainland Portugal is made of most of the Portuguese Republic, the part on the Iberian Peninsula and in Continental Europe, having about 95% of the total population and 96.6% of the country's land.
The other parts of Portugal are the Azores and Madeira, which are islands in the Atlantic Ocean.
