Area codes 732 and 848 is a telephone area code in the state of New Jersey, United States. It was created on June 1, 1997, when it was split from area code 908. It covers the central part of New Jersey, such as New Brunswick, Perth Amboy, Long Branch, Toms River, and Asbury Park. It was overlaid by 848 in 2001.
