Hi there,
the Translation of the Week is not updating. I read on your user page that you have the bot that does this job. Can you check it out? Thanks. --Peterdownunder (talk) 10:03, 2 April 2009 (UTC)
Doing... It's a semi-automatic bot (at the moment) and runs depending on my RL business level. I've been really busy recently but i'll run it now. The build up to the 1st of the month is always a busy time for me due to editorial deadlines IRL. Thanks, Goblin 10:09, 2 April 2009 (UTC)
Done. My workload is reduced now so i'll be keeping it up to date again. BG7THAT'S NUMBERWANG! 09:50, 3 April 2009 (UTC)
Hi, thanks for the traditional wiki welcome. Good to see that you're on here too. I just had to come on here to create an article when I saw that my school didn't have an article on this wiki. How are your other wikis? Tbo 157 (talk) 16:14, 2 April 2009 (UTC)
You're welcome! Are you sticking around, or is it just a temporary thing? I've pretty much given up on en as i've found I can help here a lot more. The Spotting Worlds are dead by most of the "founding fathers" - yourself, me, Slambo, Tim and EdJogg (though he does still pop in now and then) and it's just the Thomas Editors. I've got a couple of other projects going but it's pretty much just here now! (And my Tramways E-Magazine). How are you doing? BG7THAT'S NUMBERWANG! 16:20, 2 April 2009 (UTC)
Im not really editing much on any wiki any more. I occasionally edit on various wikis including en when I see something I can add to an article. Exams have got in the way of much of my editing. Tbo 157 (talk) 16:28, 2 April 2009 (UTC)
Heh I know the feeling. I should be revising at the moment, GCSEs this year (YaY...). Anyhoo, if you want to stick around here you're very welcome. We're a small, close nit community where everyone knows everyone but we generally have a field to ourself in editing - for example there's only me doing Transport. BTW: I've finally managed to almost get an FA (VGA here) - Crich Tramway Village:D. Anyway, back to the revision! Regards, BG7THAT'S NUMBERWANG! 16:32, 2 April 2009 (UTC)
I might swing by occasionaly to do some of the London transport articles which seem to be lacking here. Good luck with the revision. Tbo 157 (talk) 16:43, 2 April 2009 (UTC)
Cool :). Well drop me a note if you want any help with any thing etc etc. I'm slowly working through it but it's hard for one person! Good luck with whatever you've got on this year too :)BG7THAT'S NUMBERWANG! 18:52, 2 April 2009 (UTC)
Thanks. Last year of A levels. Tbo 157 (talk) 22:13, 2 April 2009 (UTC)
Hey BG! Just wanted to let you know that I didn't drop off the face of the Earth; I'll be back in town starting tomorrow. Look forward to seeing you on IRC. Cheers! DefenseSupportParty 22:31, 2 April 2009 (UTC)
Good to hear it! Hope you had a good trip :). You can get back to those images now XDBG7THAT'S NUMBERWANG! 22:32, 2 April 2009 (UTC)
Hey, thanks for your support in my RFB which was closed (early) yesterday successfully, 16/5. I hope I can live up to your expectations and provide Simple English Wikipedia with a reliable and effective service. All the best. The Rambling Man (talk) 09:28, 3 April 2009 (UTC)
Hi, you should read what I wrote on that talk page, it was actually sensible. Sorry about the title, I have changed it. Tardisrepect (talk) 10:44, 3 April 2009 (UTC)
My apologies - I was a bit trigger happy there! Please do watch your language in future though, and please don't put such things in all capitals (commonly done by vandals). Regards, BG7THAT'S NUMBERWANG! 10:46, 3 April 2009 (UTC)
Hi BG7. Just a quick note that {{Brldb prim}} is not present on this Wikipedia right now... you may like to import it for your new railway station articles? Cheers. The Rambling Man (talk) 14:08, 3 April 2009 (UTC)
Ah I think I must have missed that one! Thanks for the heads up TRM! :D. BTW: Any station request? :P;) XD. BGTHAT'S NUMBERWANG! 14:10, 3 April 2009 (UTC)
Hehe ;) No worries, i'll do it straight after the Lea Valley Lines. BGTHAT'S NUMBERWANG! 14:13, 3 April 2009 (UTC)
Hi BG7, if you've no objections I've co-nom'd your for your RFA. I feel that you getting the bit is an absolute no-brainer! Cheers mate fr33kmantalk 05:08, 4 April 2009 (UTC)
Go for it :D Thanks for your support. BGTHAT'S NUMBERWANG! 08:54, 4 April 2009 (UTC)
Can you please make sure you keep an eye on what you're doing with the categories. Take this for example: Category:History of science has the subcat Category:Historiography of science which has the subcat Category:Philosophy of science which has the subcats History of science and Category:Epistemology which has the subcat History of science. So, basically, it's an endless loop of categories and it makes it not truly a subcategory system. Additionally, you have all these categories, but how many articles? Within those four categories, only one has an article (Epistemology has doubt in it). Remember what the guidelines for categories says: "Because categories are a way to group together similar articles, there is no need to create a new category for just one or two articles. There should be a minimum of three articles that would fit into the category before a new category is created. Sub-categories should be considered when a category starts to get too large to easily find an article in it." Either way (talk) 10:54, 7 April 2009 (UTC)
Oops, I fail :S. I shall go and fix this now. I am aware of the category policies and guidlines and perhaps some of them may be uneeded now, but I felt that all would be of use in the short-mid term future. Regards, Goblin 15:19, 7 April 2009 (UTC)
Hi Bluegoblin7. Should we not use Capital letters for headlines? Tardisrepect (talk) 11:25, 10 April 2009 (UTC)
Hey BG7. Congrats. You're an admin. And I'm doubly pleased to promote you less than ten minutes into my birthday. Good luck with the tools and feel free to contact me or any other active administrator for advice at any time about the use of the tools. All the best. The Rambling Man (talk) 23:10, 10 April 2009 (UTC)
Congratulations. Tbo 157 (talk) 23:24, 10 April 2009 (UTC)
Congrats, BG7. Now you can delete the main page! –Juliancolton|Talk 01:12, 11 April 2009 (UTC)
I have found your T-shirt. Don't lose it. ;)ChenzwTalk 01:46, 11 April 2009 (UTC)
Congratulations. Regards, Barras (talk) 07:36, 11 April 2009 (UTC)
Thanks everyone! The obligatory Thankspam will be on it's way later today ;).
Chenzw: I tried my t-shirt on and it doesn't fit me :'(. Also, white really doesn't go with what I am wearing, do you have one in blue? XD :P;). Goblin 10:44, 11 April 2009 (UTC)
Congratulations, Bluegoblin7. Also have fun in an Easter bunny suit with that t-shirt on. xD иιƒкч? 10:49, 11 April 2009 (UTC)
I got a Blue T-shirt, a size down from Chenzw's, I hope it suits you now;). Yotcmdr=talk to the commander= 11:00, 11 April 2009 (UTC)
Grats Gobby! :)Kennedy (talk) 14:20, 11 April 2009 (UTC)
Thanks for the blue t-shirt Yotty, goes much better! Thanks for the congrat's Kennedy, second time lucky! Thankspam will be on it's way soon (i.e. Bluegoblin soon [Kennedy knows what that means!]) Goblin 16:51, 11 April 2009 (UTC)
Well done Bluegoblin7 on you successful RFA, hope to be hearing from you soon on IRCArcticFox 18:29, 11 April 2009 (UTC)
I've got a couple things to say, first I apologize for the edit waring but last time I checked is says most wanted not most notable. The link you replaced it with has two links, the one that was replaced has 92. I know your a new admin, i voted in favor of you however, you have to be fair too. I can see the argument against Eddie Fatu although I don't agree with it. Which is the reason I added the link with the most red links throughout the wiki. and you reverted that as well, it doesn't matter the subject that is only to show what has the most (red) links. Please see WP:WANT for the list of article with a lot of red links through the wiki.--†CM16 17:35, 11 April 2009 (UTC)
I'm in the car all day today, so do what you have to do (if you have time :p ) and I may have access to internet tonight or tomorow, to check. Yotcmdr=talk to the commander= 05:53, 15 April 2009 (UTC)
Dude, while you're keen, I would refrain from transcluding this RFA until it's formally accepted. It shouldn't take too long. Just be patient! The Rambling Man (talk) 17:46, 15 April 2009 (UTC)
Meh, i'm not the keen one :P. I really didn't have time to do it at the moment, but Yot's nagging me for it! But k. Goblin 17:56, 15 April 2009 (UTC)
Well, if it happens that he accepts while I'm online, I'll transclude on your behalf should you wish...! The Rambling Man (talk) 18:09, 15 April 2009 (UTC)
Cool, thanks a bunch :). I'm not that active at the moment (nor for the forseeable future!) due to exams, so thanks! Goblin 18:27, 15 April 2009 (UTC)
Hey, I noticed that you changed the way Wikipedia:Simple News/Subscribe works. Now, the instructions are completely wrong. Since I don't know how the bot works, I'm hesitant to change them. Could you take a look at it as if you were trying to subscribe and update the instructions accordingly? Thanks! EhJJTALK 15:39, 16 April 2009 (UTC)
Sure thing, will do! Thanks, Goblin 15:51, 16 April 2009 (UTC)
..this is where you're hiding! Nice to see you again Victuallers (talk) 13:23, 19 April 2009 (UTC)
Hehe, yeh it is ;). Much friendlier than EN overall, much less drama and just much better! I'm doing much better here than at EN too, so far i've got one VGA and i'm an admin, and i've also helped out in a lot of places. Feel free to pull up a seat! Goblin 13:27, 19 April 2009 (UTC)
Congratulations: You have been given a Barnstar!
Thanks for your help --Kiwislayer (talk) 13:57, 20 April 2009 (UTC)
Thanks! If you need any more, just shout :). Goblin 17:57, 21 April 2009 (UTC)
I am within my rights to make observations about who created a page and that user's editing history. I really don't see how it was "classy"... Goblin 17:52, 21 April 2009 (UTC)
People in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. Your history on both the Simple and English Wikipedias is far more blemished than mine, yet you were recently promoted to admin here by the community (including me). There is a lesson to be learned somewhere in there. SnofuKall 20:42, 22 April 2009 (UTC)
I have one simple question: Is this Wikipedia:Sandbox free to writing anything on it?--Aleksa Lukic (talk) 17:47, 21 April 2009 (UTC)
Well, it depends what you mean by "anything". Also please note that it is cleaned by a bot every 15 minutes. Goblin 17:49, 21 April 2009 (UTC)
Anything, sorry, not anything, I thought everything (Including: Unjust statement, lies, insults for users and other vandalism). --Aleksa Lukic (talk) 18:04, 21 April 2009 (UTC)
No. And if you weren't joking about that I can easily re-block you... Goblin 18:06, 21 April 2009 (UTC)
Thank you. --Aleksa Lukic (talk) 18:13, 21 April 2009 (UTC)
One more thing - on this talk page writes: user is off line, I think that is lie.--Aleksa Lukic (talk) 18:16, 21 April 2009 (UTC)
...or it's the fact that I haven't updated it/am going offline shortly... Goblin 18:17, 21 April 2009 (UTC)
Try, next time, to update your status shortly because some of users can start believing in delusions.--Aleksa Lukic (talk) 18:22, 21 April 2009 (UTC)
Please, explain this.--AleksAツ 19:13, 21 April 2009 (UTC)
You post new sections at the bottom of talk pages; that is how we do things and it for consistency that he moved your thread. GARDEN 19:15, 21 April 2009 (UTC)
Hey no worries. To be honest, do we want to keep that "rule" and those "sections"? I'm still working off the "old" system (as nothing different was suggested) so I might be wrong ;). Thanks for your interest! Goblin 23:46, 26 April 2009 (UTC)
Honestly, I think that 3 days is preferable. The New ℳikemoral♪♪♫ 01:11, 27 April 2009 (UTC)
How about 2 days it's moved to the stale section, and then a further three days at the stale section it gets completely removed? Giving 5 days minimum air-time at DYK and thus allowing everyone to input who wants to. Regard, Goblin 11:44, 27 April 2009 (UTC)
Interview is Steve Crossin - See Wikipedia:Simple News/Kennedy/QandA - Sorry only have like 30secs to write this. I know the article is very short. Could you add my sig to it? Thanks Kennedy (talk) 11:16, 27 April 2009 (UTC)
Oh :). I should have known that, I did the interview ^_^. Yup, sure think with the article, I just need to do mine and then I think it's good to go. Regards, Goblin 11:43, 27 April 2009 (UTC)
What is it ramsay? I just make a long particle about the Desrt Fox and you remove him? This is bad form Honolulu (talk) 16:08, 27 April 2009 (UTC)
I have deleted your article as it is obviously a "hoax" article. Please read our guidelines on writing articles, else they may be deleted again. Regards, Goblin 16:13, 27 April 2009 (UTC)
Hello again Bluegoblin7. Just a quick question to see if there is anything else I can help you out with (ie transport)? NotGiven 12:59, 28 April 2009 (UTC)
Hey NotGiven,
I'm not 100% at the moment, as i'm a tad out of the article writing circuit at the moment! I shall have a think and get back to you.
My aims though are to get Blackpool tramway to GA or above, and also get Victoria Line to GA or above. If you are interested in helping with either, please let me know :).
I'll see what I can do! NotGiven 10:05, 29 April 2009 (UTC)
Thanks a lot :). Let me know if you need any help, and i'll be along shortly (though not likely fully for at least a month due to exams :'(. Regards, Goblin 10:19, 29 April 2009 (UTC)
There is a discussion on-going on whether or not to remove the tools of eight admins. Please comment there to have your say!
QandA
The QandA. Every month, Kennedy interviews one of the Simple English Wikipedia's editors, asking them about themselves, and their opinions on Wikipedia. It is an exciting insight behind the anonymous face of an online username.
The Commanders's Choice. For every edition, Yotcmdr will be chosing articles that need creating, expanding or being attended to. Here is this edition's list (which are mostly P(V)GA:
