Faranah is a region in east-central Guinea. It is bordered by the countries of Sierra Leone and Mali and the Guinean regions of Kankan, Mamou, Nzérékoré, and Labé. The regional capital is the town of Faranah. As of the 2014 census, 942,733 people lived there. It has an area of 35.581 km2 (13.738 sq mi).
