The execution of Louis XVI by guillotine is an important event of the French Revolution, it took place publicly on 21 January 1793 at the Place de la Révolution (renamed Place de la Concorde in 1795) in Paris. In 1791, Louis XVI tried to escape the French Revolution and terror with a carriage, he and his wife were caught by citizens of a village, even though they were close to escaping, Louis XVI was put on a trial, which lasted a month, after being convicted of high treason, he was sentenced to death by guilotine.
