CyanogenMod is an discontinued operating system for many smartphones and tablet computers. It is based on the Android operating system. CyanogenMod is open source so that it can be forked and audited for possible threats.[1] As of the 23rd of December 2016, CyanogenMod has been discontinued and there are no new official updates to CyanogenMod.[2] Some phones such as the OnePlus One also used CyanogenOS which is based on CyanogenMod.[3]
