Crystal City is a city in the state of Texas in the United States. It is the county seat of Zavala County. The 2020 US census said that 6,354 people lived there.[2] The "San Antonio, Uvalde and Gulf Railroad" stopped in Crystal City.[5]

Crystal City was home to a large internment camp in World War II.[6] It was the largest internment camp for Germans and those of German descent in the US.[6] Almost all the children and many of the wives interned here were American citizens.[6] Most were held here for four years.
