Albert Rösti
Swiss politician / From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Albert Rösti (born 7 August 1967) is a Swiss politician. He has been a member of the Swiss Federal Council since 2023. He was the President of the Swiss People's Party from 2016 to 2020.

From 2000 to 2007, Rösti was the president of SVP Uetendorf. From 2008 to 2022, he was a member of the local council of Uetendorf. In 2014, he became the mayor of Uetendorf, replacing Hannes Zaugg-Graf.[1]
On 7 December 2022, Rösti was elected to the Swiss Federal Council, replacing Ueli Maurer.[2] He has been head of the Federal Department of Environment, Transport, Energy and Communications since 2023.
Rösti was born in Frutigen. He lives in Uetendorf, near Thun.
