වචනාර්ථ පරිවර්තන, සාහිත්‍ය පරිවර්තනය[තහවුරු කර නොමැත], සෘජු පරිවර්තනය හෝ වචනයෙන් වචනයට පරිවර්තනය (ඉංග්‍රීසි: Literal translation) යනු වචන වාක්‍ය ඛණ්ඩයක හෝ වාක්‍යයක එකට භාවිතාවන්නෙ කෙසේ දැයි නොබලා එක් එක් වචනය වෙන වෙනම පරිවර්තනය කිරීමෙන් කරන ලද පෙළ පරිවර්තනයකි.[1]
පරිවර්තන න්‍යාය තුළ, "සාක්ෂර පරිවර්තන" සඳහා තවත් යෙදුමක් වන්නේ "මෙටාෆ්‍රේස්" (සදෘශ්‍ය පරිවර්තනයක් සඳහා "පරිවර්තන" යන්නට ප්‍රතිවිරුද්ධව) වේ.
පරිවර්තන යන්ත්‍ර පරිවර්තන සඳහා බරපතල ගැටළුවක් වන ව්‍යාකූල පරිවර්තන වැරදි ලෙස පරිවර්තනය කිරීමට මග පාදයි.[2]
