Louis XV (15 Februar 1710 – 10 Mey 1774), kent as Louis the beloved (Louis le bien aimé) wis a monarch o the Hoose o Bourbon who ruled as Keeng o Fraunce an Navarre frae 1 September 1715 till his daith. He succeeded his great-grandfaither Louis XIV at the age o five. Till he reached maturity in 1723, his kinrick wis ruled bi Philippe d'Orléans, Duke o Orléans in what wis cried the Regency o Philippe d'Orlèans, his first cousin twice removed, as Regent o Fraunce. Cardinal Fleury wis his chief meenister frae 1726 till the Cardinal's daith in 1743, at which time the young king teuk ower sole control o the kinrick.
