The femur (pl. femurs or femora, or thigh bane, is the maist proximal (closest tae the centre o the body) bane o the leg in tetrapod vertebrates capable o walkin or jimpin, sic as maist land mammals, birds, mony reptiles sic as lizards, an amphibians sic as frogs.
