The Taunus is a law muntain range in Hesse, Germany that composes pairt o the Rhenish Slate Mountains. It is boondit bi the river valleys o Rhine, Main an Lahn. On the opposite side o the Rhine, the mountains are continued bi the Hunsrück. The mountains themselves span the districts o Hochtaunuskreis, Main-Taunus, Rheingau-Taunus, Limburg-Weilburg, an Rhein-Lahn.
