Ižakovci (pronounced [ˈiːʒakou̯tsi]; in aulder sources an aw Ižekovci,[2][3] Prekmurje Slovene: Ižekofci,[4] Hungarian: Murasziget[5]) is a veelage on the left bank o the Mura River in the Municipality o Beltinci in the Prekmurje region o northeastren Slovenie.[6]

Ižakovci wis attestit in written sources in 1322 as Isakouc an Isacoush (an as Isakolch in 1381 and Isakowlch in 1428). The name o the dounset is derivit frae personal name Izak 'Isaac' an is a demonym meanin 'inhabitants o Isaac's veelage'. The phonemic chynge -z- > -ž- indicates that the Slovenie name developit throu a intermediate German form.[7]
