Locatit aboot 25 kilometres (16 mi) east o Tel Aviv on Route 444 atween Rosh HaAyin an Shoham, it an aa lies juist wast o the Green Line. In 2007 the ceety haed a tot population o 31,300.[1] Its current population is estimatit at ower 32,000. The biggin o El'ad stairtit in the late 90's, but due tae the heich demand an massive construction, it haed awready achieved local cooncil status bi 1998. It is the anerlie ceety in Israel offeecially designatit a releegious municipality.
