[1] The toun o Cojedes is the shire toun o the Anzoátegui Municipality.[2]

This amunts tae 5.4% o the state's population.[3] The municipality's population density is 19.65 inhabitants per square kilometre (50.9/sq mi).[4]
The mayor o the Anzoátegui Municipality is Luis Linares, re-electit on 31 October 2004 wi 44% o the vote.[5][6] The municipality is dividit intae twa pairishes; Cojedes an Juan de Mata Suárez.[2]
