ایہ شہر برطانوی راج ویلے پنجاب دے لیفٹیننٹ گورنر سر جیمز بروڈوڈ لائل دے ناں تے وسایا گیا جیہنے چناب ویلی دے رقبے دا ناہر کرن کیتا سی۔ 1970 وچّ پاکستان سرکار نے اس دا نام بدل کے فیصل آباد کر دتا۔ ایہ نام سعودی عرب دے بادشاہ شاہ فیصل دے نام تے رکھیا گیا۔[4][5] [6]
