ਬਿਜਲਈ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਰੋਧਕਤਾ ਜਾਂ ਇਲੈਕਟ੍ਰੀਕਲ ਰਜਿਸਟਿਵਿਟੀ [ਜਿਸਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਰੋਧਕਤਾ (resistivity) ਜਾਂ ਨਿਸ਼ਚਿਤ ਬਿਜਲਈ ਅਵਰੋਧਤਾ (specific electrical resistance) ਵੀ ਕਿਹਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।], ਕਿਸੇ ਪਦਾਰਥ ਦਾ ਬੁਨਿਆਦੀ ਗੁਣ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਨਾਲ ਕੋਈ ਪਦਾਰਥ ਆਪਣੇ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਲੰਘਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਕਰੰਟ ਦਾ ਵਿਰੋਧ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜਿੰਨੀ ਕਿਸੇ ਪਦਾਰਥ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਰੋਧਕਤਾ ਘੱਟ ਹੋਵੇ ਉੰਨੀ ਹੀ ਆਸਾਨੀ ਨਾਲ ਕਰੰਟ ਉਸ ਪਦਾਰਥ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਲੰਘ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ।

ਪ੍ਰਤਿਰੋਧਕਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਆਮ ਤੌਰ 'ਤੇ ਯੂਨਾਨੀ ਲਿਪੀ ਦੇ ਅੱਖਰ ρ (ਰ੍ਹੋ) ਨਾਲ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸਦੀ ਐਸ.ਆਈ. ਇਕਾਈ ਓਹਮ-ਮੀਟਰ (Ω⋅m) ਹੈ।^[1][2][3] ਉਦਾਹਰਨ ਦੇ ਲਈ, ਇੱਕ ਪਦਾਰਥ ਦੇ 1 m × 1 m × 1 m ਦੇ ਇੱਕ ਠੋਸ ਘਣ ਦੇ ਦੋਹਾਂ ਉਲਟ ਪਾਸਿਆਂ ਤੇ ਸੰਪਰਕ ਬਣੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਸੰਪਰਕਾਂ ਦਾ ਅਵਰੋਧ (Resistance) 1 Ω ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਪਦਾਰਥ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਰੋਧਕਤਾ 1 Ω⋅m ਹੋਵੇਗੀ।

ਅਵਰੋਧਕ ਪਦਾਰਥ ਦਾ ਇੱਕ ਟੁਕੜਾ ਜਿਸਦੇ ਦੋਵਾਂ ਸਿਰਿਆਂ ਤੇ ਬਿਜਲਈ ਸੰਪਰਕ ਹਨ।

ਉਪਰੋਕਤ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਹੋਏ ਫ਼ਾਰਮੂਲੇ ਤੋਂ ਪਤਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀ ਪਦਾਰਥ ਦਾ ਅਵਰੋਧ ਲੰਬਾਈ ਵਧਾਉਣ ਨਾਲ ਵਧਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਇਹ ਕਰਾੱਸ-ਸੈਕਸ਼ਨਲ ਖੇਤਰ ਵਧਾਉਣ ਨਾਲ ਘਟਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਇਸਦੀ ਐਸ.ਆਈ. ਇਕਾਈ "ਓਹਮ-ਮੀਟਰ" (Ω⋅m) ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
