Type 24 maskingevær er et kinesisk maskingevær, bygget som kopi av det tyske MG08, som igjen var en variant av det amerikanske Maxim maskingeværet.

Maskingeværet ble satt i produksjon i 1935 på Hanyang Arsenal, av den tyske militær kommisjonen som var i landet fra 1932 til 1938. Tidligere fikk kineserne MG08 fra tyskerne, men ville produsere dem selv. Arsenalet fikk hjelp fra tidligere teknikere fra tyske Deutsche Waffen und Munitionsfabriken. De ble kamret for den tyske 7,92 x 57 mm Mauser-patronen. Fra 1935 til 1937 ble det produsert 36 032 Type 24 maskingevær ved arsenalet, og maskingeværet var det vanligste maskingevær i Kina frem til 1950. Et lite antall ble produsert med luftkjøling kontra vannkjøling. Etter 1950 ble de kamret for den russiske 7,62 x 54R-patronen.
Type 24 maskingevær ble ettervert sakte erstattet av russiske M1910 Maxim og SG-43 Goryunov og amerikanske Browning M1917.
