Chapman-Enskog-teorien

Chapman-Enskog-teorien presenterer nøyaktige formler for en flerkomponent gassblanding under termisk og kjemisk likevekt. I elastiske gasser er avviket fra Maxwell-Boltzmanns fordelingslov i likevekt liten og kan behandles som en perturbasjon. Denne metoden ble tilstrebet for å få transportligninger mer generelle enn Eulerligningene. Teorien er oppkalt etter Sydney Chapman og David Enskog.
