Byggverket er i tømmer og har 450 plasser. Kirken har inventar med akantus og er den eldste kirken i Gjøvik kommune. Kirken gjennomgikk en omfattende restaurering i 2007 etter at det ble oppdaget store råteskader. Samme år ble kirken malt.
I 1999 tok Lions-klubben på Biri initiativ til å bygge et bårehus ved kirken, og dette driftes av Gjøvik kirkelige fellesråd.
Biri kirkegård er en kirkegård på 28 dekar, hvorav 4,5 dekar enda ikke er ferdig utbygd. Det er 3270 graver, hvorav 1100 er ledige. På den ikke-utbygde delen av kirkegården er det en reserve på om lag 400 graver. På kirkegården ligger blant annet en av de 112 eidsvollsmennene, Anders Lysgaard, og tidligere stortingsrepresentant Gunnar Kalrasten.
Krigsgravene på Biri med fem engelske og en norsk soldat fra den andre verdenskrig, som alle ble drept på Biri av tyskerne 20. april 1940, ligger også på Biri kirkegård.
Den gamle kirkegården rundt Biri kirke er fredet og ble brukt fra 1891 til 1942.
