Valdaj (russisk: Валда́й) er en by i Novgorod oblast i Russland. Den ligger ved Valdajsjøen, rundt 140 km sørøst for Velikij Novgorod. Innbyggertall: 18 703 (folketelling 2002), 19 173 (folketelling 1989).

Bosetningen ble først nevnt i dokumenter i 1495, og ble innvilget status som by av Katarina II i 1770, da byens befolkning lå på rundt 2 000. Byen ble det ledende senter for fremstilling av klokker i Russland. Det berømte Iverskijklosteret (grunnlagt i 1653) og Uspenskijkatedralen (bygget i 1656) ligger på en av øyene i Valdajsjøen.
Valdaj er et populært turistmål, da den ligger midt i nasjonalparken i Valdajhøydene. De fleste besøkende kommer til innsjøen og byen om sommeren. Valdaj har mange hvilehjem og sanatorier. Mange campingplasser er tilgjengelige rundt innsjøen.
