The Coup er en politisk hiphop-gruppe fra Oakland, California.
De startet i 1992 som en trio med medlemmene Raymond "Boots" Riley, E-Roc og DJ Pam the Funkstress. E-Roc forlot gruppen etter deres andre album, men hadde en gjeste opptreden på sangen «Breathing Apparatus» fra The Coups tredje album, Steal This Album. Gruppen er nå en duo
