Sjakhtarsk (ukrainsk Шахтарськ, russisk Шахтёрск, Shakhtjorsk) er en by i Donetsk oblast i Ukraina. Den har omkring 70.000 innbyggere.

Bosettingen tok til i 1764. Det var grev Aleksej Orlov som grunnla den, og den het til å begynne med Aleksejev-Orlovka (eller på ukrainsk: Oleksjevo-Orlinka). I 1801 hadde stedet 950 innbyggere. Den grodde senere sammen med landsbyen Oljovskoje (Oljivchik).
I annen halvdel av 1800-tallet ble kullutvinningen utviklet i området, og det ble anlagt5 to store gruver. I 1891 hadde byen 6.795 innbyggere. I 1900 ble det åpnet enda en gruve, og småstedet Katik vokste frem.
På 1900-tallet tilkom nye gruver, og byen fikk mer industri, klubber, bibliotek, skoler og sykehus.
Tyske tropper okkuperte området fra 28. oktober 1941 til 2. september 1943.
I 1953 ble byene Oleksievo-Orlinka, Katik og Oljivchik sammenslått og gitt bystatus under det nye navnet Shakhtarsk.
