Osterøy er ei øy som ligger like nordøst for Bergen i Vestland fylke, omringet av Osterfjorden, Sørfjorden og Veafjorden.[1] Osterøy er den største øya i Norge som ikke vender direkte ut mot havet, og har et totalt areal på 330,16 km².[2] Osterøy er delt mellom kommunene Osterøy og Vaksdal, der Vaksdals del omfatter den mindre, østre delen av den skogkledde øya.

Det bor omtrent 8 000 mennesker (pr. 2016) på Osterøy. Høyeste fjell er Høgafjellet som strekker seg 868 meter over havet.
Fredag 3. oktober 1997 ble Osterøybrua åpnet av samferdselsminister Sissel Rønbeck. Osterøy ble første gang landfast i 1985 da Kallestadsundet bru i Vaksdal kommune stod ferdig, skjønt denne broen knytter bare en liten del av øya sitt veinett til fastlandet.
