Michael Bolton (født Michael Bolotin 26. februar 1953) er en amerikansk sanger og musiker kjent for sine rockeballader. Han oppnådde stor popularitet i 1990-årene og har i løpet av sin karriere solgt over 75 millioner album.[2]

Bolton ble født i New Haven som Michael Bolotin. Han startet musikkarieren som hardrockartist på midten av 1970-tallet og var blant annet sanger i det kortlivede hardrockbandet BlackJack. På slutten av 1980-tallet la han om til en mykere og mer pop-preget stil.
Han fikk sitt store gjennombrudd med albumet Soul Provider fra 1989. Fra dette albumet fikk han en stor hit med sangen «How Can We Be Lovers» som ble utgitt som singel og som havnet på tredjeplass på Billboard Hot 100 i mai 1990.[3][4] Fra samme album ga han også ut den selvskrevne låten «How Am I Supposed to Live Without You» på singel (som flere år tidligere hadde blitt utgitt i en versjon med Laura Branigan som vokalist.)[5][6] Sangen havnet på førsteplass på Billboard Hot 100 i januar 1990.[3] I 1991 fikk han en stor hit med sangen «When a Man Loves a Woman» som også nådde førsteplassen på Billboard Hot 100 i november 1991.[3] Han hadde også suksess med etterfølgende album som Time, Love & Tenderness (1991), Timeless: The Classics (1992) og The One Thing (1993). På slutten av 1990-tallet begynte hans suksess å avta.
