Köpmantorget er en åpen plass i Gamla stan i Stockholm, som ligger der Köpmangatan starter, der nordre og søndre Köpmanbrinken går videre den siste biten ned til Österlånggatan. Her finnes en bronsekopi fra 1912 av skulpturen Sankt Göran och draken. Der Köpmantorget ligger i dag, fantes fram til 1697 Köpmanporten.

Köpmantorget kaltes på Petrus Tillaeus kart fra 1733 for Kiöpmanne T. Torget fikk sitt navn etter Köpmangatan som var hovedforbindelsen mellom Stortorget og Fiskartorget utenfor den østlige bymuren. Köpmantorget var således ikke noe handelstorg, det var på Fiskartorget som spesielt skjærgårdsbefolkningen bedrev handel i middelalderen.[1]
Før 1687 var kvartalene Pegasus (nord) og Perseus (sør) for torget sammenbygd med en hvelving, som ble kalt Köpmanporten og var en del av Stockholms gamle bymur. Köpmanporten ble avbildet av Elias Brenner like før den ble revet den 30. april 1687 «för dess trånga passage skull». Hvelvingen var i virkeligheten betydelig smalere enn på Brenners illustrasjon, ca. 1,6 meter.[2] Etter rivingen ble dagens plass anlagt. Den var i øst ble begrenset av det nå revne Acteon-kvartalet. I 1728 ble plassen fremdeles kalt Köpmanporten. Senere har plassen også blitt kalt både Skvaltorget, på grunn av vannet som rant over plassen, og Skvallertorget på grunn av en avis som hadde lokaler på torget.[1]
