Knæstang eller Knestang (gnr. 128) (av norrønt kné og stangr, som trolig betyr eng med knekk ved rett bekk) er både en gammel urgård og ei lita grend i Haugsbygd i Ringerike, et lite stykke nord for Haug kirke. Grenden har fått navn etter gården, som kan ha blitt ryddet i århundrene før år 0. Den tilhører således bygdens eldste gårder. Like nord for gården(e) ligger Viul. Knæstang nevnes i gamle diplomer fra senmiddelalderen og framover, første gang sikkert i 1445 (DN. VI 521) og senere i 1528, 1542, 1604, 1617, 1657 og 1723. Et diplom fra 1352 (DN. IV 287[1]) kan også vise seg å omhandle denne gården, men dette er mer usikkert i det navnet i denne kilden kan tolkes på flere måter. I 1657 nevnes Knæstang som to gårder, og i 1723 som to gårder hvorav den ene med to oppsittere.
