En håndoverfres eller bare overfres er en variant av verktøyet fres som brukes til å frese ut (hule ut) et område på overflaten av et relativt hardt arbeidsstykke, som vanligvis er tre eller plast. Hovedanvendelsen av håndoverfreser er i trearbeid, og spesielt for å lage kommoder.

Håndoverfresens opprinnelige form er som et håndverktøy. Den er en spesialisert type av en høvel med en bredere grunnflate og et smalt blad som stikker ut ganske mye fra grunnflaten (som på engelsk gir den klengenavnet old woman's tooth, som kan oversettes til «gammel kvinnes tann»). I dag er elektroverktøyformen for håndoverfres, med en el-drevet spindel den mer vanlige. Selv om håndverktøyet har få fordeler framfor elektroverktøyet og foretrekkes av noen arbeidere, har det stort sett blitt erstattet av den moderne spindel-håndoverfresen, som var utformet for samme arbeid. Noen arbeidere regner det som det mest anvendelige enkeltverktøyet for trearbeid.[1]
