Birobidzjan (russisk Биробиджа́н, jiddisch ביראָבידזשאן) er hovedstaden i Den jødiske autonome oblast i Russland.[3][4] Byen ligger ved elvene Bira og Bidzjan, derav navnet, og er nær grensen til Folkerepublikken Kina og ved Den transsibirske jernbanen. I 2006 hadde byen 78 500 innbyggere. Jiddisch er et av de offisielle språkene der, og blir fremdeles brukt i en viss grad.

De som gjester området finner det vanligvis overraskende grønt. Det er mest lettindustri i byen.
I 2003 hadde dokumentarfilmen L’Khayim, Kamerat Stalin! premiere. Den handler om hvordan Stalin opprettet denne regionen for jødene på 1930-tallet, og hvordan tusenvis av jøder slo seg ned der. I tillegg til at filmen viser historien om opprettingen av det som skulle være et «jødisk hjemland», viser den også scener fra Birobidzjan på begynnelsen av 2000-tallet, og intervjuer med samtidige jødiske innbyggere.
Totalt sett var det ingen stor andel av alle sovjetiske jøder som slo seg ned i Birobidzjan. De som gjorde det, unnslapp folkemordet Holocaust som rammet jødene i den vestlige delen av Sovjetunionen, da det nasjonalsosialistiske Tyskland gikk til angrep på Sovjetunionen i 1941.
Verdens største menora er reist i Birobidzjan. Den er 21 meter høy.[3]
