Østre Gausdal er ein tidlegare sjølvstendig kommune i Oppland fylke, frå 1837 del av Gausdal formannskapsdistrikt.

I 1879 vart Gausdal delt i Østre og Vestre Gausdal kommune. Østre Gausdal hadde ved delinga 1 879 innbyggjarar.
1. januar 1962 vart Østre og Vestre Gausdal kommune igjen slått saman til Gausdal kommune. Østre Gausdal hadde ved samanslåinga 3 942 innbyggjarar.
