Tapti eller Tapi er ei elv i sentrale India, og dannar saman med Narmada ei av grensene mellom Nord- og Sør-India. Elva er rundt 724 km lang og renn frå aust til vest. Rundt 300 km frå munningen er farbar med mindre farkostar. Ho er ei av dei sørindiske hovudelvane, og er heilag for hinduar.

Tapti har utspring aust nær Betul i Mahadeofjella i Satpurakjeda, sør i delstaten Madhya Pradesh. Nedbørsområdet er rundt 77 800 kvadratkilometer. Ho renn sørvest nesten parallelt med Narmada, mellom Satpurafjella og norddelen av dei vestlege Ghatfjella. I Khambhat-bukta nedanfor Surat dannar ho eit breidt estuar.
Større byar langs elva er Multai, Nepanagar, Betul og Burhanpur i Madhya Pradesh, Bhusawal i Maharashtra og Surat i Gujarat. Nokre viktige bruer er Sawalde-brua i Dhule på National Highway 3 og jernbanebrua ved Bhusawal på strekninga mellom Bhusawal og Khandwa på Central Railway.
I hindumytologi er gudinna Tapti (Tāpī Mātā, 'mor Tap(t)i') dotter av solguden Surya og maken hans Tsjhaya. Ho er syster av Sjani.
