Chertsey er ein by ved Themsen i Surrey i England. Han ligg nær kryss 11 på ringvegen M25.

Byen voks opp omkring Chertsey Abbey, som vart grunnlagd i 666 av biskop Eorcenwald av London. I 964 vart prestane drive ut av kong Edgar, og erstatta av benediktinarar. Abbediet voks til eit av dei største benediktinarklostra i England, og hadde store eigedomar i det nordvestlege Surrey. Det vart oppløyst av Henrik VIII i 1536. Kongen tok stein frå klostret for å byggje eit palass ved Oatlands, og landsbyfolket brukte stein til å bruleggje gatene. I dag er det berre stadnamn og nokre fiskedammar som minner om klostret.
Dei fleste tilreisande til Chertsey kjem for å vitje fornøyelsesparken Thorpe Park. Staden var opphavleg eit grustak, der det så vart anlagt ein kunstig innsjø og deretter parken, som er av dei eldste fornøyelsesparkane i England.
I H.G. Wells' bok Klodenes kamp vart Chertsey angripe og øydelagt av romskip tidleg på formiddagen 8. juni 1902.
